More than Red Lines
Caning was a common form of punishment since I was three years old. My mother, afraid that I would be easily influenced by negative characters, tended to discipline me for the slightest misbehaviors which she deemed as unacceptable. Caning was a daily affair. Right was right. Wrong was wrong. There was no grey line. This performative single channel video aims to confront my fear of the pain derived from the physical punishment. It attempts to recover dissociated parts of my psyche that were once blocked away by my self defence mechanism.
